How to Complete a Temporary Tag

Completing the Temporary Tag correctly is imperative to the safety of law enforcement and to their ability to easily read the expiration date on the tag, as well as to make sure all security features are not compromised. A dealer may only issue one Tempory Tag per customer and if the issued tag should expire the customer may go to any BMV office or County Clerk of Courts office and be issued subsequent temp tags for a small fee. Issuing more than one Licence tag per customer by a licensed dealer is a violation of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC). All issued Temp tags must be recorded by the issuing dealer and reported to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles on their website.
